Jelle Klaasen has survived a match dart to end Phil Taylor's run at this year's World Championship.
Sixteen-time champion Taylor missed double 20 in the deciding set before Klaasen reeled off four successive legs to clinch a dramatic win.
Taylor improved considerably on his last two performances but he ran into an inspired Klaasen, who ended the match with 15 180s compared to five for his opponent.
It appeared as though Klaasen would be made to rue four missed darts for a 3-1 lead as Taylor survived a match dart from the Dutchman before levelling the contest at three apiece.
Taylor eased into a 2-0 lead in the seventh set but he failed to check out 64, before Klaasen hit the same finish to keep his hopes alive.
The missed opportunity hurt Taylor at the same time as Klaasen built upon his momentum, and after leaving 71 after nine darts in the sixth leg, he hit double 10 at the first time of asking to send Taylor crashing out of the tournament.

Earlier in the evening, Peter Wright prevailed 4-3 in an enthralling encounter with Dave Chisnall, who missed a dart at double 16 to progress.
Wright also missed a dart to win the match but he regained his composure to edge out his opponent 4-2 in the deciding set.
