The International Olympic Committee has announced that it will postpone its decision to strip Lance Armstrong of his bronze medal from the 2000 Sydney Games.

Armstrong recently had his seven Tour de France titles taken away from him due to doping offences.

IOC presidest Jacques Rogge has revealed that the organisation will wait for the International Cycling Union to notify Armstrong that all of his victories from 1998 onwards have been invalidated before stripping him of the medal.

Four other athletes from the 2000 Games have had their medals removed, including Ukraine's gold medal-winning shotputter Yuriy Bilonog.
