Belkin to ride on thanks to new sponsorship deals with Lotto and BrandLoyalty

Dutch cycling team Belkin agree new sponsorship deals with Lotto and BrandLoyalty that should secure their future beyond the end of the season.

Dutch UCI World Tour team Belkin have secured their future after two new sponsorship deals were provisionally agreed with Lotto and BrandLoyalty.

There had been fears that Belkin may have to fold as the American technology company is withdrawing its support at the end of the year, but a deal has now been struck which should secure the future of the team.

BrandLoyalty, a marketing firm that already sponsors a speed skating squad, have joined forces with Lotto to back the team, although a new name is yet to be announced.

"We aspire a collaboration of two years, with the option to add another two years. This would make Lotto the name-giver of the first combined cycling-speed skating team," Lotto marketing director Arno de Jong said.

"We are currently working on the details. Everything is focused on Lotto and BrandLoyalty joining forces to make sure the first professional speed skating-cycling team will start next season."

Belkin began sponsoring the team midway through the 2013 season after long-term backer Rabobank had ended its association the previous winter.
