West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has ruled out retirement from any form of the game following their World Cup quarter-final loss to New Zealand on Saturday.
The 35-year-old scored 61 in the defeat at Wellington, adding to his then record-breaking 215 against Zimbabwe, the first double hundred in World Cup history.
Despite suffering with back problems in recent years, Gayle insists that he has no plans to leave the sport.
He told ESPNCricinfo: "I definitely want to play the T20 World Cup next year for West Indies, there's no doubt about that.
"I've got a few concerns and a few injury [cases[ to try and solve. I'll give myself some time and hopefully look back at it and see how well I can actually progress for West Indies cricket at this point in time."
Gayle will not feature during the Test series against England in April as he will enter rehabilitation in the aim of regaining full fitness.
