Rory Burns: 'I don't remember Moises Henriques collision'

Surrey batsman Rory Burns remembers nothing of his on-field collision with teammate Moises Henrique, which left both players requiring hospital treatment.

Rory Burns has revealed that he does not remember his on-field collision with Surrey teammate Moises Henriques earlier this month.

Surrey's Twenty20 clash against Sussex Sharks had to be abandoned following the coming-together in the deep, which left Burns and Henriques needing hospital treatment.

Both players are now in "decent shape", but Burns cannot recall the incident that later resulted in surgery.

"I literally don't remember any of the collision," he told BBC Sport. "The first thing I remember is waking up. The Sussex physio was holding my neck and the paramedic was over my face.

"I remember the ball going up and thinking 'I've probably got to put my foot down here to try and get there' and then I got there, and then I remember diving. Other than that, I remember the whole game and then waking up and seeing the paramedics."

Surrey are currently bottom of the South Group division, with one win from their seven games to date.
