Sri Lanka's Dinesh Chandimal 'opts not to play' in World Twenty20 semi-final

Sri Lanka Cricket announce that Dinesh Chandimal has "opted not to play" against West Indies in the World Twenty20 semi-final in Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka Cricket have announced that Dinesh Chandimal will play no part in today's World Twenty20 semi-final against the West Indies.

The news emerged via the SLC's official Twitter account a matter of hours before the toss in Dhaka.

The message read: "Dinesh Chandimal has opted not to play in today's ICC #WT20 semifinal against West Indies."

Chandimal was suspended for Sri Lanka's final group match against New Zealand due to a slow over-rate.

Lasith Malinga will captain the side after they topped Group One at the Super 10 stage with three victories out of four.
