South African captain AB de Villiers scores 106 not out to help guide his side to victory over New Zealand.

Captain AB de Villiers hit an unbeaten century to help guide South Africa to a six-wicket win over New Zealand in the first one-day international between the two nations.

Earlier in the day the hosting Kiwis had set South Africa a total of 254 runs to win the encounter.

South Africa's reply started negatively, having found themselves 35-3 when De Villiers came to the crease.

He put on a knock of 90 runs with JP Duminy to steady the innings, before producing an unbeaten stand of 129 with Faf du Plessis to see South Africa end the match with figures of 254-4.

De Villiers concluded the match with 106 runs, while Faf du Plessis closed on 66 not out.
