Adelaide Strikers see off Perth Scorchers by six wickets

The Adelaide Strikers overcome the Perth Scorchers with six deliveries to spare.

The Adelaide strikers recorded a six-wicket Big Bash victory over the Perth Scorchers at The Oval earlier today.

The visiting Scorchers won the toss and elected to bat first, but they were unable to form any sustainable partnerships. Australian Nathan Coulter-Nile top scored with an unbeaten knock of 42 from just 25 deliveries, while his side ended on 159-9 from their 20 overs.

It meant that the hosts had a victory target of 160 runs to win the match.

Opener Michael Klinger was their most profitable batsman and he was still at the crease on 86 when the winning runs were struck with six balls to spare. England's Alex Hales also contributed 31 before he was caught by Simon Katich.

The result means that Adelaide collected two points, but Perth ended up with nothing for their efforts.
