Tymal Mills hits back at Paul Grayson's claims

Tymal Mills rubbishes suggestions from Essex head coach Paul Grayson that he agreed a switch to another team months ago.

Bowler Tymal Mills has described an accusation from Essex head coach Paul Grayson that he had agreed to join another county side months ago as "a complete lie".

At the start of the month it was announced that Mills, 22, would leave the Chelmsford-based outfit as soon as his contract expired this winter.

Speaking recently to BBC Essex about the paceman's departure, Grayson suggested that he had already secured a move to another team, while he had also earlier claimed that Mills had rejected "an attractive new contract offer" to remain at the County Ground.

However, on Twitter yesterday evening, Mills rubbished those claims.

"In response to Grayson's comments about me on @BBCEssex last night I would like to react by saying this is a complete lie on his behalf," he wrote.

"[It] has deeply upset and annoyed me on hearing it back now and have let him know personally. His comments do not reflect the whole story and have tarnished what I wanted to be a harmonious departure from the club and on my behalf I will keep that way."

Mills, who has been tipped to one day represent England, has been linked with moves to Sussex and Worcestershire.
