MS Dhoni: 'Pressure got to India in Cricket World Cup semi-final'

India captain MS Dhoni insists that he is "happy" with the performance of his side at the Cricket World Cup, despite falling just short at the semi-final stage.

MS Dhoni has admitted that the pressure got to India in this morning's Cricket World Cup meeting against Australia as their campaign came to an end.

The India skipper top scored for his side by recording a half-century, although the damage had already been done as the Aussies claimed a 95-run victory at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

"[Australia] played very good cricket, over 300 is always a difficult score," Dhoni told reporters. "I felt it was just over par, they could have had 350.

"We started okay but they bowled well. But overall, I'm quite happy with where we were at the start of the tournament. Shikhar [Dhawan]'s dismissal was on the softer side because that was the time when we could have milked the Australian bowling.

"It was not really needed to play a big shot but overall there's pressure chasing 320 runs and pressure makes you do things you don't want to."

Australia will take on fellow co-hosts New Zealand in the final of the tournament at the weekend.
