Joe Root has dismissed David Warner's reasons for his infamous attack on the England batsman at a Birmingham bar two years ago.
The Australian opener, who was suspended before the last Ashes series in the UK after punching Root, had suggested that a misunderstanding over a wig led to the incident.
However, Root has taken to Twitter, claiming that Warner's excuse for punching him is "ridiculous", but has claimed that he is mainly focusing his attention on the series against the Baggy Greens, which gets underway on Wednesday.

Warner has scored 3,231 runs in 38 Tests for Australia since his debut in 2011.
