India lose Rohit Sharma at lunch

India lose Rohit Sharma and trail Australia by 450 runs at lunch on day three of the fifth Test in Sydney.

India have lost one wicket at lunch as they continued to dig away at Australia's first-innings total of 572-7 on day three of the fifth Test at the SCG this morning.

Rohit Sharma (57) was the only casualty of the session when Nathan Lyon removed him as the visitors went into the break 122-2 - 450 runs adrift.

Their innings got off to a dreadful start on day two when Mitchell Starc got rid of Murali Vijay within the first over, before Sharma and Lokesh Rahul steadied the ship.

The duo made further inroads this morning, with Sharma reaching his half-century before being dismissed, while Rahul also reached 50 but Australia's bowlers are yet to thwart his efforts.

Captain Virat Kohli - playing his first official match as skipper - partners Rahul at the crease ahead of the next session.
