Australia have boosted their hopes of forcing a result in the first Test against India by taking their lead to 212 at tea on the fourth day.
After starting the session on 32-0 at the Adelaide Oval, the hosts suffered a setback in the afternoon when Chris Rogers fell for 21 after sweeping Karn Sharma to Rohit Sharma at mid-wicket.
Shane Watson arrived at the crease to join David Warner, and the pair quickly built an effective partnership as the latter continued his good form by recording another half-century.
Varun Aaron thought he had made the crucial breakthrough when he bowled Warner, but the Indian seamer was left disappointed when the umpire signalled a no-ball.
Warner rubbed further salt in the wounds by reaching 69* before the tea break, with Watson unbeaten on 33 at the other end after helping Australia progress to 139-1.
