Reece McFadden joins headguard debate

Scotland boxer Reece McFadden says that he 'loves' fighting without a headguard following his victory over Andrew Selby in the Commonwealth Games.

Scotland boxer Reece McFadden has become the latest athlete to back the decision to omit headguards from the Commonwealth Games this summer.

A number of boxers have had their say on the rule change in recent days and McFadden has thrown his weight behind the change in policy.

"I love fighting without a headguard. It restricts your vision," he told Sports Mole.

McFadden caused a major upset earlier this evening when he beat favourite Andrew Selby in his opening bout of the flyweight category.
