Billy Joe Saunders has beaten Matthew Hall by unanimous decision to successfully defend his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles at York Hall.

The 23-year-old has now extended his unbeaten record to 17 wins, with just one more needed to secure a Lonsdale strap outright.

Saunders controlled the bout from start to finish, hurting his opponent on a few occasions by landing with some heavy blows.

However, Hall battled bravely and earned plenty of recognition for lasting 12 rounds, despite being clearly outclassed.

The contest was scored 120-108, 120-109, 119-110 in favour of the Hertfordshire southpaw.
