Manny Pacquiao reveals that he will be praying for Floyd Mayweather Jr during the American's time in jail.

Manny Pacquiao has revealed that he is praying for Floyd Mayweather Jr as his rival begins an 87-day jail term.

Mayweather is serving the sentence after being found guilty of domestic battery and Pacquiao has wished the former world champion well.

The Filipino fighter said: "I'm praying for him.

"I'm not treating him as my opponent, my enemy or anything. I'm treating him as my friend, my brother. I'm praying for him that all things will be fine for him."

Pacquiao also revealed that negotiations between the two over a possible fight broke down after he was offered a $40m (£25.5m) fixed fee instead of a share of pay-per-view profits.

"I would not fight for that. He will be laughing [behind] my back if I do that. It's not a proper negotiation if you're a businessman," added Pacquiao.

Unbeaten American Timothy Bradley faces Pacquiao in Las Vegas this Saturday.
