Amir Khan bemoans "disgusting decision"

Amir Khan describes the decision of two ringside judges as "disgusting" after he loses his two world titles to Lamont Peterson.

Amir Khan has said the decision of two Washington DC judges was "disgusting" after he lost his world titles in the early hours of this morning.

The Bolton fighter lost his WBA and IBF light-middleweight belts on a controversial points decision but felt he had clearly won the fight.

"That was a disgusting decision," he said afterwards. "I don't know why they took so long, if they thought [Peterson] won then why take so long?

"I want [a rematch] straight away, I want it next fight, I want my two titles back.

"We know who won that fight and I'm sure everyone else knows who won that fight."

It was a historic win for home favourite Peterson, who welcomed Khan's request of a rematch, saying: "I would definitely give him a rematch - he gave me a chance to fight for a world title, why not? It was a good fight, I'm pretty sure everybody enjoyed it and I don't mind doing it again."

Khan is eyeing a March 31 date for the rematch in Las Vegas.
