Toronto Raptors' Lou Williams named NBA Sixth Man of the Year

Lou Williams of the Toronto Raptors is named the 2014-15 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.

Toronto Raptors guard Lou Williams has been voted the 2014-15 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.

The 28-year-old averaged a career-high 15 points to help the NBA's only non-American team to a club-record 49 wins.

He finished with 502 total points from a panel of 130 sports journalists to finish ahead of Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics (324) and Los Angeles Clippers' Jamal Crawford (131).

Williams is the first Raptors player to win the award, which is given to the league's standout player who isn't a regular in his side's starting five.

By amassing 49 wins, the Raptors secured fourth spot in the Eastern Conference and on Saturday lost their first playoff game at the hands of the Washington Wizards. Game two of the first-round series takes place tomorrow.
