Larry Sanders faces six weeks on the sidelines

Larry Sanders will be out of action for at least six weeks after requiring surgery to repair fractures in his orbital bone.

Larry Sanders has been informed that he will be out for a minimum of six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair fractures in his orbital bone.

Sanders suffered the injury when he was struck by an elbow from Houston Rockets guard James Harden early in the first quarter of the Milwaukee Bucks' 101-95 loss earlier this month.

The Bucks confirmed that the surgery had been successful, but that the 25-year-old would not be available for selection until the end of March at the earliest.

Sanders has struggled with injuries this season and was forced to miss over a month of basketball earlier in the campaign after injuring his thumb in an altercation at a nightclub.

Milwaukee handed Sanders a four-year contract last summer to secure his services for the foreseeable future.
