LeBron James: 'Cleveland Cavaliers need further signings'

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James insists that the club need further signings in free agency to ensure that they compete for the NBA Championship next season.

LeBron James has insisted that the Cleveland Cavaliers still have work to do during free agency to improve their team.

The 30-year-old re-signed for the club on a two-year contract worth $47m (£30m), after the Cavs already agreed deals to bring back Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert.

However, James is adamant that his side have to keep going to ensure they are competing for the NBA Championship once again next season.

James told reporters: "It's been good so far, but we have a lot of work to do. We still got to re-sign Tristan [Thompson].

"Hopefully we can bring back JR [Smith] as well and see if there's some other free agents out there that'd love to come here and play if we're able to do that.

"We definitely don't want to come back the same team. We want to come back better. But right now, we've been doing so far, so good."

The Cavaliers lost 4-2 in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
