James Arnott has claimed the silver medal for Team England in the men's T47 100m race at the Commonwealth Games.

The 21-year-old, who has a T46 classification, clocked a time of 11.30 seconds to secure second spot on the podium ahead of Jamaica's Tevaughn Thomas, who ran 11.63 seconds for bronze.

Suwaibidu Galadima of Nigeria was the comfortable winner of the gold, crossing the line in a time of 11.04 seconds, but his elation was short-lived as he soon fell to the floor in agony.

Having suffered an apparent hamstring injury, the 25-year-old had to be taken out of the stadium in a wheelchair to be attended to by medical staff.

Meanwhile, Wales's Morgan Jones just missed out on a medal, his time of 11.93 seconds only good enough for fourth place.
