St Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher says that the team are not concerned by first-round Draft pick Alec Ogletree's previous off-the-field issues.

Jeff Fisher has described Alec Ogletree as "a very talented player" after selecting him in the first round of this year's Draft.

The linbacker was highly rated after declaring for this year's Draft, but his stock fell when he was arrested on drink-driving charges just days before the scouting combine.

The St Louis Rams head coach told the team's website: "We had Alec way up there, he's a very, very good player.

"We had him in for a 30 visit, talked to him at the combine, spent time with him, and convinced that he's looking forward to the future and understands how to do things right and knows that this is a great opportunity for him. He's a very, very talented player.

"You know people are going to make mistakes and I think that this was a maturity issue. He understands. He learned very well, very quickly here tonight what kind of effect those choices have, but we don't have a concern."

Ogletree had previously encountered legal issues in 2010, when he was arrested for stealing a scooter helmet.
