Russell Wilson: "It was an emotional time"

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson admits that he was very emotional after his side's comeback to win the NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has revealed that he was emotional after his side's triumph in the NFC championship game to seal their place in the Super Bowl.

Pete Carroll's men staged a miraculous comeback to overturn a 12-point deficit with two minutes remaining in the game to force overtime, where Wilson fired the winning touchdown to Jermaine Kearse.

Following his match-winning exploits Wilson broke down in tears as he led his teammates in prayer in the middle of the pitch.

Wilson told reporters: "Yeah, I'm usually pretty calm. But I was thinking about the game and, I don't know, just the ups and down of life in the past year and people doubting us and what we could do.

"I was thinking about my dad and wishing he was here, but he was watching from the best seat in the house. It was an emotional time for me."

Wilson and his teammates will face off against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
