NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says that he did notice an improvement in quality of the game at this year's Pro Bowl.

Roger Goodell has acknowledged that the quality of play at this year's Pro Bowl was an improvement on previous seasons.

The NFL commissioner had considered cancelling the annual all-star game if players did not show increased effort.

Goodell told "I watched the game and noticed the improved quality of the game. I appreciate the players commitment in this regard.

"We need to continually work to make our game better for the fans. I look forward to getting detailed player comment and input over the next few weeks."

The NFC team beat their AFC opponents 62-35 in Hawaii on Sunday.
