Rex Ryan certain he won't be fired mid-season

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan insists that he will still be in charge of the team for the rest of the season.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has insisted that he is confident that he will not be fired before the end of the season after a disappointing year so far.

Despite Monday night's loss to the Buffalo Bills leaving New York at 2-9 for the season and bottom of the AFC East, Ryan is certain that he will remain in charge for the next five games.

"Unless it changes drastically, I will be the head coach here for the next five weeks," Ryan said, according to The New York Post.

"That's what I know and I'm going to go about my job like I always do."

While Ryan is prepared for a change at the end of the campaign, he insists that he had not had any conversations with owner Woody Johnson about his job.
