New York Jets to play Buffalo Bills in Detroit on Monday

The Buffalo Bills will play the New York Jets in Detroit on Monday night after safety concerns meant that the game was unplayable in Buffalo on Sunday due to snowfall.

The NFL has moved the game between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills to Ford Field in Detroit on Monday night after it was originally scheduled for Buffalo on Sunday.

The league took the decision after another storm brought the area's three-day snowfall total to at least six feet as concerns for the safety of the public grew.

"Public safety resources in western New York must be fully available to deal with the recovery from the storm," the NFL said in a statement.

Buffalo had hoped to clear the Ralph Wilson Stadium in time for Sunday's afternoon start and they had even offered free game tickets to fans who could help shovel out the stadium.

However, Bills president Russ Brandon conceded that it was "not practical" to play a game in the conditions and with the weather forecast suggesting more snow, it was ruled impossible to play the game in Buffalo.
