Vince Wilfork has revealed on Twitter that the New England Patriots will not be picking up his contract option for 2015.
Wilfork posted a lengthy letter, in which he thanked the fans, coaches and his teammates for helping him through his career with New England.
"I want to take this time to just let everyone know that I was informed on Tuesday that the Patriots will not be picking up my option," he wrote.
"I will take my time to think things through and take into consideration many things but mainly my family and see where life goes from there."
The 33-year-old added that he still believes he can play football, and still has the desire to compete in the NFL next season.
