Report: Houston Texans interview Lovie Smith

The Houston Texans interview Lovie Smith for their vacant head coach's position following the sacking of Gary Kubiak, according to a report.

The Houston Texans have reportedly interviewed former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith to replace Gary Kubiak.

Kubiak was fired by the Texans two weeks ago following the club's defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which was their 11th straight loss.

Smith was top of owner Bob McNair's list to replace Kubiak after being out of the game for a year after being fired himself by the Bears for missing the playoffs last season, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Houston are also interested in interviewing Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and their own defensive coordinator Wade Phillips for the position.
