Jadeveon Clowney to play in season opener

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien announces that defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will play in his side's season opener against the Washington Redskins.

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has confirmed that defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will play in his side's 2014 season opener.

The 21-year-old had missed his side's last two pre-season games with an undisclosed injury after sustaining a knock in a joint practice with the Denver Broncos.

When asked if Clowney would play on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, O'Brien replied: "Yes."

The Texans selected Clowney with the first overall pick in the 2014 Draft.
