Jordan Cameron anticipates quarterback "battle" at Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron believes that Johnny Manziel and Brian Hoyer will face a "battle" for the starting quarterback spot next season.

Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron believes that the race to be the team's starting quarterback in 2014 will be a competitive "battle".

The Browns chose Johnny Manziel in the first round of this year's NFL Draft, raising questions over whether the former Texas A&M Star would go straight into the team as starter.

However, head coach Mike Pettine has already warned Manziel that he is not guaranteed a starting role, and Cameron believes that he will face a tough task in taking it off the incumbent Brian Hoyer.

"Coach [Mike] Pettine talked about drafting competition, and I think he stuck to that. It seems like it's going to be a lot of competition. We'll see how that battle goes. There's no handing over of the job," Cameron is quoted as saying by ESPN.

Cameron also had his say on the celebrity factor that has accompanied Manziel to the team, with season ticket sales rocketing after his selection in the Draft.

"If we win games and he's playing, then it doesn't matter at all," he added.

Before the Draft took place, Pettine admitted that he did not see any of the prospective quarterbacks being able to oust Hoyer from the team.
