Jonathan Martin is hopeful that he can move past the bullying scandal that he endured in the 2013 season following his move to the Carolina Panthers.

Jonathan Martin is determined to move past the bullying scandal he endured during the 2013 season.

Martin was harassed by teammate Richie Incognito during his days with the Miami Dolphins, which resulted in him being traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

The 25-year-old's stay with the 49ers lasted just one season when he was released by the club, but he has now been signed by the Carolina Panthers, where he is hopeful that he can rebuild his career.

"You know, honestly I haven't given it much thought," Martin told ESPN. "I've just been looking forward to each day.

"That is a situation for the past. I don't think about it. I try not to catch the headlines, positive or negative. I'm focused on what I can do for my career moving forward.

"And now, getting here, I'm looking forward to being a member of the Panthers and to compete and play in this great game, and do whatever I can to help this team win."

Martin has played 38 matches in his three years in the NFL.
