Ed Reed is looking forward to playing in the Super Bowl near his family home.

Ed Reed has said that he is excited to be playing in the Super Bowl near to his childhood home.

The Baltimore Ravens safety was born just outside of New Orleans, with the NFL's season finale taking place in the city's Superdome next month.

The 34-year-old told reporters: "It's amazing to be going back to New Orleans. I'm so grateful. To go to the Crescent City, here we come, baby!

"It's just special, man. Honestly, man, God is truly amazing for what he has taken us through. It's just amazing, man. It's just amazing."

Reed has played 11 seasons in the NFL, but has not played a game in New Orleans since 2006.

The Ravens will face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on February 3.
