Lauryn Williams: 'I wasn't trying to make history'

USA bobsleigh brakewoman Lauryn Williams insists that it was not her aim to become the first woman to win golds in the Winter and Summer Games.

Lauryn Williams has insisted that she did not enter the Winter Olympics in a bid to "make history".

The 2012 4x100m gold medallist narrowly missed out on the chance to become the first woman to be crowned Olympic champion at a Summer and Winter Games, finishing second in the bobsleigh alongside pilot Elana Meyers for the United States.

The 30-year-old told Reuters: "I didn't come here to make history, I came here to help Team USA. It wasn't about history for me."

Williams also has a silver medal from the 2004 Games in Athens, where she finished second in the 100m.
