US curling skip John Shuster: 'Text from wife helped'

John Shuster reveals that a text from his wife inspired him to a better performance in the curling on Wednesday.

The United States men's curling team skipper John Shuster has revealed that a text from his wife on Tuesday night inspired him before his side's game against Denmark on Wednesday morning.

Shuster improved his performance to help the USA to a 9-5 win, and he said that the advice from his wife to have more fun helped him a lot.

"It really changed my complete being," Shuster said, according to the LA Times. "All of a sudden I had a better attitude and, holy cow, I threw the rock better too."

The win over Denmark was the USA's first in the preliminary round from three attempts.
