A video posted by American luger Kate Hansen on her official YouTube account showing what appears to be a wolf roaming the halls of her hotel has been revealed to be a hoax.

The prank video was orchestrated by American television host Jimmy Kimmel.

Hansen had tweeted the video to her followers under the hashtag #sochiproblems.

Hansen finished 10th in the women's luge on Monday with an overall time of 3:22.667.
