Jeremy Abbott: 'Fall left me feeling confused and in pain'

Figure skater Jeremy Abbott admits that he was left feeling 'confused and in pain' after falling during his event.

Team USA's Jeremy Abbott has admitted that his figure skating fall left him feeling 'confused and in pain'.

Abbott failed to pull off a quadruple toe jump, crashing to the ice before skidding into the boards surrounding the skating performance area.

The 28-year-old got back on to his feet to complete his performance, but he admits that it was only the crowd that kept him going.

"I was very confused and I was in a lot of pain, but I heard the crowd and I knew I had to do it for them," Abbott is quoted as saying by The Gazette.

Abbott has previously won five American titles during his career, but has failed to shine on the international stage.
