David Murdoch: 'Great Britain failed to pressure Sweden'

David Murdoch admits that Team GB failed to pressure Russia during Monday's curling loss at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Curling skipper David Murdoch has admitted that Team GB failed to put enough pressure on their opponents Sweden.

Britain's men's curling team lost their second preliminary round game against Sweden, after beating Russia earlier in the day in Sochi.

"You need to take control of the ends just like we did against Russia," the 36-year-old told BBC Sport. "We just need to put that to one side really, a loss to the world champions isn't the end of the world.

"There are a lot of tough teams here and it just shows that when you don't play your best game you are going to be chasing a lot of ends and that is not what you want to be doing.

"I don't think they were too good. I just don't think we forced enough pressure on them. We have a good record against those guys throughout the years and when you are not playing your A game you don't expect to win."

Team GB are back in action on Tuesday when they face Germany.
