Chemmy Alcott reveals Zara Phillips admiration

Great Britain downhill skier Chemmy Alcott reveals that after spending time with Olympic silver medallist Zara Phillips she developed great respect for her work ethic.

Great Britain downhill skier Chemmy Alcott has revealed that she has huge respect for Olympic silver medallist Zara Phillips.

Alcott developed a friendship with Phillips, the Queen's granddaughter, several years ago after suffering her first of two broken legs and was in awe of her work ethic in her equestrian discipline.

She told The Mirror: "After my first big accident, which was back in 2010, I felt like I wanted to escape a little bit. Zara invited me to come and stay with her for a while and watch her train. Well, I have never seen anyone train as hard as her.

"As an athlete, you always think you work harder than everyone else. But when I saw Zara and what she does, I just had a massive respect for her as both an athlete and as a person."

The 31-year-old finished 16th in the women's super combined downhill event on Monday and will take to the course again later today in the downhill event.
