Germany wins first women's ski jump

Germany's Carina Vogt has become the first ever women's ski jumping Olympic champion, pipping Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz with the very last jump.

Italy's Coline Mattel takes away a bronze medal, while Japan's heavily tipped Sara Takanashi finishes in fourth.

The event made its Olympic debut 16 years after first petitioning for its inclusion.

The IOC had previously argued that there were not enough elite competitors for women to warrant a place.
