Nicola Spirig wins gold in women's triathlon

Nicola Spirig of Switzerland has taken gold in the women's triathlon with a time of 1:59.48.

The final running leg of the event came down to an extraordinary photo finish as Spirig edged out Lisa Norden of Norway, who took silver.

Australia's Erin Densham finished third, two seconds behind the front pair with a time of 1:59.50.

Great Britain's Lucy Hall led after the first swimming leg but eventually finished 33rd while teammate Helen Jenkins came in fifth.
