Andreas Seppi cruises past Brydan Klein in first-round clash at Wimbledon

Italian Andreas Seppi reaches the second round of Wimbledon after defeating Britain's Brydan Klein 6-3 6-2 6-2 during their first-round clash at SW19.

Andreas Seppi produced a dominant display to secure progress from the first round of Wimbledon this afternoon with a 6-3 6-2 6-2 victory over Britain's Brydan Klein.

The Italian took the initiative in the opening set with an impressive display on his own serve and also off the forehand, as the 31-year-old closed out the first with a 6-3 win.

Australian-born Klein was unable to offer much competition in the second set, which was won by a commanding Seppi who progressed further forward unchallenged despite his preference for harder courts.

Seppi did not let up his aggression and he broke Klein twice in the third to ensure that he made it into the second round with a commanding 6-2 showing in the final set.
