Andy Murray happy with response to doubles defeat

Team GB's Andy Murray says that he was pleased with how he played during his win over Juan Monaco, which came just two days after losing in the doubles with brother Jamie.

Great Britain's Andy Murray has suggested that it has been difficult to get over his defeat in the opening round of the doubles alongside brother Jamie.

The siblings suffered a surprise loss to Brazilian duo Andre Sa and Thomaz Bellucci, but Murray was back on court on Tuesday as he impressed in a straight-sets victory over Juan Monaco.

The 29-year-old told reporters: "I played pretty well. I hit the ball well from the back of the court. I didn't make many unforced errors and it was a good match.

"I didn't use the doubles defeat as fuel. It made things harder if anything. It was a tough loss obviously and the way the match went was really tough so you've got to take it, move on and try your best the next day to win your matches and that's it."

Murray will face Italy's Fabio Fognini in the last 16 of the tournament.
