Murray labels Olympic crowd "weird"

Great Britain's Andy Murray has described the atmosphere inside Centre Court this afternoon as "weird".

The third seed for the men's singles got his bid for a gold medal off to the best possible start by overcoming Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka.

Speaking afterwards, the world number four said: "It's a slightly different crowd to Wimbledon.

"It's just weird - there are so many colours, there is a lot of noise with the music and stuff when you come out that you don't get at Wimbledon, which is slightly different. The support was great."

The 25-year-old will take on either Finland's Jarkko Nieminen or Somdev Devvarman of India in the second round.
