Anne Keothavong has revealed that she was proud to represent Great Britain in her opening match at the Olympics Games, despite losing to Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki on Centre Court.

The British number two took the opening set 6-2 against the former world number one, but eventually lost 6-2 3-6 2-6 on Saturday.

"I thought I got off to a great start. I played great tennis in the first set and outplayed her," said the 28-year-old. 'But she did get better. I don't feel like it was a match I lost. She beat me and she was the better player.

"Being out on Centre Court was amazing. It wasn't full, but the people who were there made plenty of noise. I couldn't be more proud to represent Britain."

Keothavong is in action later today with Elena Baltacha in the women's doubles as they take on the German pairing of Julia Goerges and Anna-Lena Gronefeld.
