Live text coverage of quarter-finals day of the Olympic tennis event at the All England Club, courtesy of Sports Mole.

Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage of the sixth day of action at the Olympic tennis event at Wimbledon.

Today is quarter-finals day at the All England Club for both the men and the women and there's a number of top names battling it out for a place in the last four.

There's also plenty of doubles and mixed-doubles action that we'll be keeping you up to date with.

Follow ALL of the key action below.

19.57That's just about it from us. You can find all of the day's headlines from the Olympic tennis by clicking here. Join us at around 11.30am tomorrow for our coverage of day seven (and what a day!) See you then.

19.52Huber/Raymond vs. Hlavackova/Hradecka, Sharapova vs. Kirilenko, Ferrer/Lopez vs. Llodra/Tsonga, Robson/Murray vs. Stosur/Hewitt

19.50On No. 1 Court, this is the order for tomorrow...

19.49To have tickets for Centre Court tomorrow eh? I know I haven't but if you're feeling generous do let me know and I'll call in sick tomorrow and take them off your hands.

19.48Murray vs. Djokovic follows that and the main showcourt is finished off by the Williams sisters in doubles action against Kirilenko and Petrova.

19.47Federer will open up Centre Court at 12 against Del Potro in his semi and they're followed by Azarenka vs. Serena in what looks a cracker of a match.

19.45Tomorrow's order of play has just been released...

19.39That means that all play is done for the day and we've finished earlier than usual at the All England Club.

19.37While I was getting caught up in the GB glory on No. 1, Kirilenko and Petrova came through 7-5 6-7[4] 6-4 against the rhyming duo from China Peng and Zheng.

19.35If facts are what you're after then our match report gives you the breakdown of that wonderful encounter.

19.33That was a brilliant comeback in the super tie-break from the British duo. Murray now has a singles semi-final with Novak Djokovic and also a mixed doubles quarter-final tomorrow. Get a good sleep Andy!

19.32Robson gets in a first serve and Murray swats away the volley. Court No. 1 erupts and the Brits are through to play Sam Stosur and Lleyton Hewitt of Australia.

GBR 10-7 CzechGAME, SET AND MATCH!

GBR *9-7 CzechIt's a double fault from Laura! The drama intensifies! Come on now, come on.

GBR *9-6 CzechMurray can't get a ball at his feet back over. Robson to serve with three match points. Come on girl!

GBR 9-5* CzechFour match points for Great Britain as Hradecka pushes a backhand long.

GBR 8-5* CzechThat's now six points in a row for the Brits as Murray aces! The crowd are in delirium.

GBR *7-5 CzechMurray needs to produce some big serves and the first is good as his delivery is unreturned. Three points from victory now.

GBR *6-5 CzechBrilliant from the Brits as Stepanek loses both service points! Murray puts away the volley as GB reel off four in a row.

GBR 5-5* CzechThe crowd go wild as Robson continues her impressive play by putting away a backhand volley.

GBR 4-5* CzechRobson has held both service points as Stepanek nets a volley after a strong second-serve from the 18-year-old. We're back on serve in this match-deciding breaker.

GBR *3-5 CzechNice serve from Robson and GB are still in touch as Stepanek nets.

GBR *2-5 CzechMurray and Robson think they have pulled it back but a Czech challenge is successful and we replay the point. Robson nets.

GBR 2-4* CzechThe Czechs are definitely targeting Robson but this time she produces a volley at the feet of Stepanek.

GBR 1-4* CzechAnd now Robson volleys wide and the Czechs have a three-point lead. Can't believe Murray lost both his serves there.

GBR *1-3 CzechStepanek plonks a forehand straight towards Robson's face and she can do little about it.

GBR *1-2 CzechClever volley down-the-middle from Stepanek sees the Czechs regain their lead.

GBR 1-1* CzechMurray comes up with a low forehand that Hradecka can't get over, mini-break restored.

GBR 0-1* CzechThe Czechs break Robson's serve early.

19.18Quick recap, the Czechs were 6-3 ahead in the breaker but GB saved the three set points before earning a match point of their own. They couldn't take it and now we're into a first-to-ten tie-break. You need to win by two clear points though.

Robson/Murray 7-5 6-7[6] Hradecka/StepanekSET! Murray nets the return and we're going into a 'championship tie-break'.

19.16Misses the first serve...

19.16Now SET POINT CZECH REPUBLIC as Stepanek slaps away a volley. The big man will now serve for the set.

19.15Robson is clearly nervous as she first messes up the toss before misbouncing the ball. Hradecka volleys away and we're back at 7-7. Gripping stuff.

19.14MATCH POINT GB as Robson fires a return winner up-the-line. The young Brit will now serve.

19.14We're moving over to No. 1 Court where there's an amazing atmosphere. Murray and Robson two points from victory at 6-6 in the second-set tie-break.

19.13Russia is guaranteed at least a silver in the women's tennis now as Sharapova advances to face fellow Russian Kirilenko in the semis.

19.11Clijsters resistance proves futile as Sharapova wins through on Centre. A valiant effort from the Belgian in what we all now is her last appearance on Centre Court.

Clijsters 2-6 5-7 SharapovaGAME, SET AND MATCH!

19.10Clijsters saves a match point on Centre.

Clijsters 2-6 5-6* SharapovaBREAK! Sharapova's got the crucial break on Centre and will now serve for a semi-final place.

19.06Murray and Robson are into a second-set tie-break on No. 1 as the No. 1 Court crowd chant: "GB (clap, clap, clap) GB!"

19.05GAME, SET AND MATCH! Bish bash and bosh! The Williams sisters go marching on as they defeat the Italians Errani and Vinci 6-1 6-1.

Clijsters 2-6 *5-5 SharapovaNo nerves whatsoever from the number three seed as she holds to-love.

Clijsters 2-6 5-4* SharapovaClijsters matches Shara in holding to-15 and it's now over to the Russian to hold serve and stay in the set.

Clijsters 2-6 *4-4 SharapovaSharapova regains her composure to hold to-15 and Clijsters now has a massive service game.

18.56DOUBLE BREAK! The Williams sisters are romping to victory on No. 2. They're now serving at 4-1 up in the second. First set was 6-1.

Clijsters 2-6 4-3* SharapovaThis is really good from Clijsters as she takes her third straight game to move ahead in the second. Can she break again?

18.51BREAK BACK! Hradecka and Stepanek have broken back against Murray and Robson on No. 1. They're at 4-4 in the second set, with the Brits claiming the first.

Clijsters 2-6 *3-3 SharapovaBREAK BACK! She takes the second of them and is back on terms on Centre. The crowd love it and are cheering the Belgian back into this.

18.48Three break-back points for Clijsters...

Clijsters 2-6 2-3* SharapovaBetter from Clijsters as she holds to-love.

18.44GAME, SET AND MATCH! Melo/Soares 4-6 2-6 Llodra/Tsonga The French pair advance to face the Spaniards Ferrer and Lopez in the last four.

Clijsters 2-6 *1-3 SharapovaClijsters is digging in as best she can. She takes the Russian to 30-30 but can do little as Sharapova continues the onslaught to hold.

18.40BREAK! The Williams sisters just don't let up and they take a 2-0 lead at the start of the second.

Clijsters 2-6 1-2* SharapovaBREAK! And yes, Sharapova does charge! Clijsters looks comfortable at 40-15 but loses four points in a row as Sharapova takes the advantage.

Clijsters 2-6 *1-1 SharapovaSharapova holds to-30 and is certainly wanting to continue to charge in this second set.

18.33SET! And the American greats make no mistake to take the opener 6-1. All too easy for Verenus (I just made that up there, I like it!)

18.30DOUBLE BREAK! The Williams sisters have made a strong start over on No. 2 and are now serving for the first set at 5-1.

Clijsters 2-6 1-0* SharapovaGood start for the Belgian as she holds off Sharapova at deuce to edge ahead at the start of the second.

18.28BREAK! It's getting better and better for the British mixed-doubles pair on No. 1 as Robson and Murray move 2-0 ahead against the Czechs at the start of the second set.

18.24SET! Peng/Zheng 5-7 7-6[4] Kirilenko/Petrova

Clijsters 2-6 *0-0 SharapovaSET! The Belgian can't do it though as Sharapova remains firm on serve to take the opener in 39 minutes.

18.22Back in our feature game, Clijsters has taken Sharapova to deuce as she looks to get one of the breaks back.

18.21SET! And that'll do nicely for the British pair as they hold serve to-love to rapturous applause on No. 1.

18.19BREAK! Murray and Robson have just taken a 6-5 lead over on No. 1 and will now serve for the first set.

18.18GAME, SET AND MATCH! Mirza/Paes 6-2 6-4 Ivanovic/Zimonjic The Indians will play top seeds Azarenka and Mirnyi in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles.

Clijsters 2-5* SharapovaDOUBLE BREAK! It's all too easy for Sharapova as her powerful groundstrokes earn her a double break.

18.15The defending women's doubles gold medallists, Venus and Serena Williams of America, have just begun their quarter-final against Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci of Italy.

Clijsters *2-4 SharapovaJust as I step in Sharapova has continued to consolidate her early break and now leads 4-2.

18.13Thank you Jacky.

18.10Right that's all from me today I'm afraid folks. I'll be handing you back over the the ever-knowledgeable Pascal Lemesre who will guide you through until the end of the day. Enjoy!

Clijsters 2-3* SharapovaOh no. No sooner had Clijsters got herself back in the contest, she goes and drops serve. To be fair, Sharapova earned that with some aggressive play from the baseline.

Clijsters *2-2 SharapovaBREAK! The Belgian is right back in this one. Sharapova cannons a forehand long and concedes the break. The corwd are well behind Clijsters in this one now.

Clijsters 1-2* SharapovaClijsters shows her mettle out there as she comes back from 0-40 to hold serve and get herself on the board.

17.55For the record, the super-tie-break is a first to 10 decider with a margin of at least two points needed for the winner.

17.53News from elsewhere and Sabine Lisicki and Christopher Kas have caused an upset in the mixed doubles as they beat Liezel Huber and Bob Bryan in three sets to reach the quarter-finals. The final set was won 10-5 in a super-tie-break.

Clijsters *0-2 SharapovaSharapova has little trouble consolidating that break and she now leads 2-0 in this opening set.

17.48Just a recap - the men's semi-final lineups are as follows:

Murray vs. Djokovic
Federer vs. Del Potro

Clijsters 0-1* SharapovaBREAK! It's a dream start for Sharapova as Clijsters double faults to hand the Russian the break.

17.44The players are ready and it'll be Clijsters to serve.

17.40Clijsters and Sharapova have eight Grand Slams between them (four each) but it is the Russian who is going for the Career Golden Slam at these Games. A gold medal in London and she will join Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal in an elite group of players who have won all four Slams and also have a gold medal to their name.

17.38Both of these competitors are playing in their first Olympics but for Clijsters it will be her last as she will be retiring after the US Open.

17.37Both ladies emerge from the locker room to a great ovation from this Centre Court crowd.

17.33We're going to be sticking around on Centre Court because up next is the mouth-watering encounter between Kim Clijsters and Maria Sharapova.

17.32The Wimbledon champion's win means that he will play Juan Martin del Potro in the semi-finals. The last time they faced each other was in the quarter-finals of this year's French Open, a match which Federer won in three sets.

17.30Federer gets very lucky indeed on match point as his forehand clips the net and drops over onto Isner's side, giving the American no chance. The world number one was the deserving winner in this one but Isner gave a very good account of himself indeed. He made Federer work hard in both sets.

17.29GAME, SET AND MATCH! Federer 6-4 7-6[5] Isner

17.28Oh! Federer moves to match point thanks to an ace. He's turned it around again.

17.27Isner's refusing to give this up. A backhand volley at the net helps him move 5-4 in front following a Federer error.

17.26Federer moves 4-3 ahead. The second point was an outrageous forehand right into the corner. He always pulls out the magic at the key times, doesn't he?

17.24The American goes 3-2 in front...

17.23Federer breaks again but then Isner whacks home a winner and makes it 2-2.

17.22But Isner breaks back with a powerful volley. Made it look simple when it wasn't.

17.21And Federer gets the mini-break instantly with a superb backhand winner.

Federer 6-4 6-6 IsnerWow. Federer manages to hold thanks to a thunderous forehand which flies past Isner. The American dug in there but came up just short. We're into the tie-break.

Federer 6-4 6-6 IsnerWow. Federer manages to hold thanks to a thunderous forehand which flies past Isner. The American dug in there but came up just short. We're into the tie-break.

17.20So, Juan Martin del Potro eventually closes out his match against Kei Nishikori. The Argentine eighth seed will play the winner of this one.

17.19GAME, SET AND MATCH! Nishikori 4-6 6-7[4] Del Potro

Federer 6-4 *5-6 IsnerIsner holds now so Federer will have to hold again to stay in this set.

Federer 6-4 5-5* IsnerThat was a bit of a test for Federer but he comes through it with a hold. The last point was a sizzling ace.

Federer 6-4 *4-5 IsnerIsner holds to love for the second time in the match which means that Federer will be serving to stay in this second set.

Federer 6-4 4-4* IsnerIt's a similar story for Federer as a clinical backhand brings him to 4-4. That was a something of a signature shot for the 30-year-old. Beautiful.

Federer 6-4 *3-4 IsnerNo trouble for Isner there as he holds to go 4-3 ahead.

Federer 6-4 3-3* IsnerThe American gets himself to 30-30 on the Federer serve but an unforced error, and then a beautifully-weighted backhand, gives the Swiss to hold. You just wonder when the world number one will pounce...

Federer 6-4 *2-3 IsnerIsner recovers brilliantly to hold and go back ahead 3-2. Federer had the chance of a break there but the American held his nerve. Fair play.

16.54Federer gets to 30-40 in the Isner serve but then whacks a wild forehand well out of bounds.

16.52The wind is certainly kicking up out on Centre Court. The dust back on the baseline is flying everywhere.

Federer 6-4 2-2* IsnerTurns out it doesn't matter. Federer gets the advantage before Isner hits a lob too long. The Swiss holds and it's 2-2.

16.49There's a collector's item - a Federer double fault. It could be costly too as Isner wins the next point to bring it to deuce.

16.47SET! Lisicki/Kas 7-6[5] Huber/Bryan

Federer 6-4 *1-2 IsnerIsner follows suit with his own love service game. What's surprising is that's his first of the match. He's not panicking out there yet and it'll be important that he keeps his cool against probably the best player of all time. Easier said than done.

Federer 6-4 1-1* IsnerFederer gets off the mark more emphatically with a hold to love.

Federer 6-4 *0-1 IsnerDespite losing that first set, Isner's serve certainly hasn't been affected. He confidently holds to get the ball rolling in this second set.

16.39Isner had a couple of chances for a break point there but Federer rallies to hold and take this first set 6-4. The top seed just about deserved that. Isner made 14 unforced errors to Federer's six and that's what's cost him.

16.39SET! Federer 6-4 Isner

Federer *5-4 IsnerBREAK! How has he missed that?! Federer does well to return Isner's rocket of a serve but the American somehow hits the volley long to hand his opponent the break. The Swiss will serve for this opening set.

16.30Federer can't take a couple of break points as Isner serves two aces and we're at deuce.

Federer 4-4* IsnerA wonderful sliced drop shot from Federer sees him hold. Both men still refusing to budge.

Federer *3-4 IsnerWith all of my chatter about Federer's serve, Isner's is also very handy indeed. He whacks an ace past the Swiss to hold again and it's 4-3 to the American.

Federer *3-4 IsnerWith all of my chatter about Federer's serve, Isner's is also very handy indeed. He whacks an ace past the Swiss to hold again and it's 4-3 to the American.

16.22UPDATE: Del Potro, who took the first set 6-4, has an early break against Nishikori in the second to lead 2-0.

Federer 3-3* IsnerThat was quick from Federer. His serve is still as smooth and powerful as ever and he holds again. Neither player showing any signs of cracking in these opening stages.

Federer *2-3 IsnerWe're still on serve in this first set as Isner holds. The players break and I think that the American is taller than Federer even when sitting down.

Federer 2-2* IsnerFederer's serve looks to be in fine fettle this afternoon as he holds again. It played a huge part in his recent Wimbledon triumph.

16.14SET! Nishikori 4-6 Del Potro

Federer *1-2 IsnerThe American has started well here as he holds again. He's looking strong and he's going to need to call on all of his trademark strength to overcome Federer.

Federer 1-1* IsnerFederer gets off the mark with a hold. He is being dwarfed by the ridiculously tall Isner.

16.09Sabine Lisicki/Christopher Kas vs. Liezel Huber/Bob Bryan in the mixed doubles has just got underway.

Federer *0-1 IsnerThe giant Isner holds from 15-30 with some serious serving.

16.03Okay then, Isner will serve first.

16.00It's worth remembering that Federer is looking to become only the fourth player in history to win the Career Grand Slam (winning all four Slam plus an Olympic gold medal throughout your career). The last person to do it was friend and rival Rafael Nadal when he clinched gold in Beijing in 2008.

15.57These two guys have played each other four times down the years with Federer coming out on top in three of those matches. The last time was at Indian Wells back in March, a contest which the world number one won in straight sets.

15.55Here they come then. First out is the six foot nine Isner and he is quickly followed by Roger Federer, the King of Centre Court.

15.50Something of a minor shock there as sixth seed Petra Kvitova is beaten in straight sets by 14th seeds Maria Kirilenko. The Russian will now meet either Kim Clijsters or Maria Sharapova in the semis. That one's up later but for now we'll be staying on Centre Court as Roger Federer takes on John Isner in the quarter-finals of the men's singles.

15.48GAME, SET AND MATCH! Kvitova 6-7[3] 3-6 Kirilenko

15.47There it is, Novak Djokovic books his place in the semi-finals with an efficient hold of serve. A really clinicla performance from the second seed. He'll now meet Andy Murray in the last four. Meanwhile, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will be disappointed with his display. He looked jaded today.

15.45GAME, SET AND MATCH! Djokovic 6-1 7-5 Tsonga

Tsonga 1-6 5-6* DjokovicBREAK! Is that the killer blow? Djokovic taps a simple volley over the net and has the break. He's just the best at biding his time before striking. He'll now serve for a place against Andy Murray in the semi-finals.

Tsonga 1-6 *5-5 DjokovicTsonga is all histrionics now, throwing his arms up in the air as he hits long. What he won't be happy with is how easy Djokovic held there. It's 5-5.

Tsonga 1-6 5-4* DjokovicThis time it's an error from Djokovic as the Serb fires long to hand Tsonga the hold. The world number two will be serving to stay in this set.

Tsonga 1-6 *4-4 DjokovicAnother Tsonga error sees Djokovic hold to make it 4-4. There's been some wild shots out there today. Some of them inside the lines.

15.32Tsonga brings it to deuce on the Djokovic serve but the Frenchman then blasts a forehand into the net. He looks to the sky in frustration.

15.27UPDATE: Juan Martin del Potro has just started his quarter-final clash with Kei Nishikori.

Tsonga 1-6 4-3* DjokovicNow it's Djokovic's turn to curse himself following a couple of errors that give Tsonga the hold. The Frenchman wraps up his game with a ferocious volley at the net.

Tsonga 1-6 *3-3 DjokovicAnd Djokovic manages to hold. That looked to be a vital game and it's the Serb who comes out on top.

15.22Tsonga is berating himself as he throws away two break points. Djokovic hangs on in there and fights back to deuce.

15.18David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez's win against Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig in the men's doubles has set up a semi-final with either Melo/Soares of Brazil or Benneteau/Tsonga of France.

Tsonga 1-6 3-2* DjokovicBREAK! Djokovic is pumping his fist as his forehand winner gives him a break. Can he hold and bring himself back on terms in this set?

15.16GAME, SET AND MATCH! Cilic/Dodig 4-6 4-6 Ferrer/Lopez

15.16But he can't take it. We're at deuce.

15.15Now then, Djokovic brings up a break point...

Tsonga 1-6 *3-1 DjokovicDjokovic gets off the mark for this set as he holds to make it 3-1 to Tsonga.

Tsonga 1-6 3-0* DjokovicMeanwhile Tsonga consolidates his break with a hold and he now leads 3-0.

15.09That's an absolutely emphatic win for Serena Williams against Caroline Wozniacki. The American fourth seed has been in scintillating form in this tournament and she will next face top seed Victoria Azarenka for a place in the final. That could be some match.

15.07GAME, SET AND MATCH! S Williams 6-0 6-3 Wozniacki

Tsonga 1-6 *2-0 DjokovicBREAK! And we have a game here now. Djokovic hits a porr backhand into the net and Tsonga has a crucial break. It's all change now on Centre Court as the Frenchman looks to be in the ascendancy.

15.05Oh, but he squanders the first one with a return that hits the net.

15.05Suddenly Tsonga brings up a couple of break points...

15.04SET! Kvitova 6-7[3] Kirilenko

Tsonga 1-6 1-0* DjokovicThat's just the tonic for Tsonga. The crowd get firmly behind him and he holds to open his account in this second set.

14.57SET! It's all so simple for Djokovic as he breezes through his service game to take this first set 6-1. It's a huge uphill task facing Tsonga now. He's not out of it yet, but he's been well below par today.

Tsonga 1-5* DjokovicBBut just like that Djokovic breaks. He gains the advantage with a wonderful forehand winner before Tsonga hits long. The Serb will serve for the opening set.

14.53Some wonderful play from Tsonga sees him save three break points and bring it to deuce.

14.51Call me stupid but I'm not sure that Tsonga will be having too many match points today...

14.50The last time that these two met was in the semi-finals of the French Open. Djokovic saved four match points that day and came back to take the final set 6-1 in one of the matches of the season.

Tsonga *1-4 DjokovicThe Serb moves closer to taking the first set with a solid hold of serve. He's looking very calm indeed out on Centre Court.

Tsonga 1-3* DjokovicDjokovic whacks the ball into the net and Tsonga finally gets on the board with a hold of serve. He had to battle for that one.

14.45SET! Cilic/Dodig 4-6 Ferrer/Lopez

14.44Thank you Pasacal. Right, this service game is going one way and then t'other as another Tsonga error brings it back to deuce.

14.40Okey doke, I'm off for my lunch so Jack Prescott will be taking over this afternoon. Have fun monsieur....

Tsonga *0-3 DjokovicThe fifth seed can't take it and Djokovic consolidates the hold to move three ahead in the early stages on Centre.

14.34Tsonga has a break-back point after fighting back from 30-0 to 30-40...

Tsonga 0-2* DjokovicBREAK! Horror start for the Frenchman as he dumps a forehand into the net at Advantage Djoko. The Serb did not earn that break, Tsonga lost it.

14.30The third women's quarter of the day is underway on No. 2 Court as 2011 Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova faces 14th seed Maria Kirilenko. They're on serve at 3-2 Kvitova.

14.29Wozniacki is on the board at last as she holds serve against Serena to level the second set at 1-1.

14.27Both men have had one straight-sets win alongside a pair of 2-1 victories so far in the competition, although Tsonga had that marathon match against Milos Raonic to come through in the second round.

Tsonga *0-1 DjokovicIt's a comfortable hold for the second seed as he wrongfoots Tsonga with a forehand at 40-15.

14.25Djokovic to serve first first...

14.22Tsonga and Djokovic are just completing their warm-ups by loosening the serve so let's have a look at their form, which is extremely similar. Both men lost in the semi-finals at Wimbledon to Roger Federer and Andy Murray and have been relatively impressive in reaching the quarters here at the Olympics.

14.21SET! Benneteau and Gasquet of France take the first set 6-4 against Serbia's Tipsarevic and Zimonjic.

14.20SET! Whoosh! Serena breaks again to win the first set 6-0 against Wozniacki. The American is truly firing on all cylinders.

14.18Here come Tsonga and NoDjo. I'm hoping for a real battle between the pair. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - aka Wills and Kate - have moved from Court No. 1 to the Royal Box on Centre. They're lucky, aren't they?

14.13DOUBLE BREAK! Serena simply has a blistering game at the moment. She takes a double break in the first set against Wozniacki and is now 5-0 ahead.

14.10Aaach! We're going to have to wait a little while longer for the players as the roof is taken off Centre. The officials must have read the same forecast as me then.

14.05BREAK! Serena is arguably in the form of her life at the moment and she's raced to a 3-0 lead against Wozniacki over on No. 1.

14.04Next up on Centre Court is arguably the pick of the men's quarter-finals as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, seeded five, takes on the second seed from Serbia Novak Djokovic. What a corker!

13.59Kerber hits long and the match is Azarenka's. To be honest, I'm surprised it went on that long and credit must go to Kerber for fighting so hard. The Belarusian was always dictating play and is through to the semis, where she'll face either Serena or Wozniacki.

Azarenka 6-4 7-5 KerberGAME, SET AND MATCH!

13.57Another two match points for Aza..

Azarenka 6-4 6-5* KerberAzarenka regains her composure to hold serve and yet again it's up to Kerber to hold serve and send us into a tie-break.

13.53GAME, SET AND MATCH! Bryan/Bryan 7-6[4] 7-6[10] Erlich/Ram The American top seeds just come through a second-set breaker to reach the semis where they'll play either Tipsarevic and Zimonjic of Serbia or Benneteau and Gasquet of France.

Azarenka 6-4 *5-5 KerberAnd she does hold! The German puts a backhand back behind Azarenka to hold to-30. Back level in the second set, somehow.

13.51Game point Kerber...

13.50Williams and Wozniacki have just got underway over on No. 1.

Azarenka 6-4 5-4* KerberBREAK! Kerber surely prayed for some more luck when she woke up this morning. How she's won that game, I have no clue. Azarenka lashes the ball away in anger and is booed for doing so as the German breaks back again.

13.48It's now break point Kerber as both women clip the tape.

13.47Yet again Vicky is denied as Kerber's forehand down-the-line finds the corner. Deuce again...

13.46Oh my! It's happened again! Azarenka has another match point and Kerber's return clips the tape and dribbles over.

13.45Talk about breathing a sigh of relief! Kerber's forehand bounces up off the tape and falls short of Azarenka's lunge. Deuce.

13.43This is brilliant from Azarenka, she sets up match point with another craftily constructed point.

13.43That's the best point I've seen since switching focus to this match. Both women are battering each other but it's Kerber who cracks by sending a backhand long. 30-30.

13.41The Bryan brothers are into another tie-break in the second set over on No. 2. Will the number one seeds win through or be taken to a decider?

Azarenka 6-4 *5-3 KerberBREAK! Oh yes. Azarenka is presented with a second serve and swats an inside-out backhand cross court past the German's outstretched racket. The world number one just needs to hold serve for the win.

13.39Two more break points for Azarenka as Kerber bends low but can't get her forehand over the net.

13.38Here's a tweet just come in from @OlympicsTennis: "Williams and Wozniacki are out on Court 1 already - not much of a rain delay after all."

Azarenka 6-4 4-3* KerberAzarenka has new balls and holds to-15 as she continues to pummel Kerber with some exceptional depth.

13.34The rain didn't last very long as the sun returns to Wimbledon and the covers are pulled off. Topsy-turvy English weather strikes again!

Azarenka 6-4 *3-3 KerberThat's a great hold from Kerber, the first time she's done so in four attempts. Now up to Azarenka to follow suit...

13.32Azarenka's length is quite incredible, she manages to find the inside of the baseline time and time again as she sets up break point. It's saved by Kerber though and we're back to deuce.

13.30This shower means that Murray will be even more happy to have finished before the covers were pulled over. He's now safely into the last four while some of the others will have to wait.

13.29We're ok here on Centre as the roof is on and there's no disruption whatsoever as Kerber blasts a backhand up-the-line.

13.28It's raining! The covers are being pulled over the outside courts as the drizzle falls over the All England Club.

Azarenka 6-4 3-2* KerberBREAK! How Kerber is staying in these points, I have no idea. Azarenka is all over the rally but Kerber manages to get her backhand high enough to make the overhead tricky and Vicky pushes it long. Kerber now has to hold her serve.

13.25Here's a break-back point for Kerber as Azarenka's forehand can't get over the tape.

13.24GAME, SET AND MATCH! Hlavackova/Hradecka 6-3 6-4 Chuang/Hsieh The Czechs move into the semis where they will face number one seeds Huber and Raymond of the United States.

13.23Kerber is doing everything she can to stay in the match here. Two scintillating forehand see her move to 15-30.

13.22Next up on No. 1, by the way, is another women's quarter between Wimbledon champion Serena Williams of the US and Denmark's eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki. Updates shall follow.

Azarenka 6-4 *3-1 KerberBREAK! Kerber can't consolidate the break back as Azarenka pushes the German wide and she can't get the backhand to creep inside the sideline. Can Azarenka now stop this run of three straight breaks of serve?

13.20Two break points for Vicky...

13.20Azarenka's sporting a lovely red top-green skirt combo in the colours of her nation while Kerber is all in white bar some funky red trainers.

13.18Just to recap what has happened so far in this one, Azarenka took the early advantage and led 4-1 in the first before Kerber broke back to 4-4. The German couldn't maintain the fightback, however, as Azarenka broke in the tenth game for a 6-4 success. The Belarusian then moved 2-0 ahead in this set before the break below, Kerber now serving at 1-2.

Azarenka 6-4 2-1* KerberBREAK BACK! Looks like a good time to join this one as well. Kerber breaks back in the second set with a forehand back behind the Belarusian.

13.15Ok people, just because Murray's done his job doesn't mean I've done mine, we've still got a whole day of mouth-watering action and next up for the eyes of Sports Mole is the match on Centre between Azarenka and Kerber.

13.12Want a concise report of Murray's triumph? Course you do and here it is.

13.10Murray breaks the Almagro serve yet again to book his place in the Olympic semis. The Spaniard at one point turned to a member of the crowd and said: "come on what?" after being told to do just that. Muzza will be delighted that he's progressed to the last four with such ease and can now have an afternoon's rest before his mixed-doubles match with Laura Robson later this evening.

Almagro 4-6 1-6 MurrayGAME, SET AND MATCH! Murray is through to the last four and a semi-final with either Novak Djokovic or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Almagro 4-6 *1-5 MurrayAlmagro isn't playing well and Murray appears to be using this as a licence to play some shots. He aces on the first point before lashing away a forehand and delivering another ace at 40-0. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

13.05Almagro is serving at nowhere near 100% as he is simply knocking the ball into the box. His backhand is my favourite part of his game as he has a one-hander, rare in the modern game, but this is the shot that seems to be causing his shoulder the most discomfort.

Almagro 4-6 1-4* MurrayDOUBLE BREAK! Murray races to 0-40, missing the first break point by framing an easy volley before completing the double break with a trademark forehand pass.

Almagro 4-6 *1-3 MurrayA little better from Almagro but he can't quite earn a break point as Murray holds to-30.

13.01BREAK AND SET! Kerber will be kicking herself as Azarenka breaks the German's serve to take the opening set 6-4 in 49 minutes.

Almagro 4-6 1-2* MurrayAlmagro gets on the board in the second. Is there any way back for the 11th seed?

12.57Azarenka stops the run of Kerber games on Centre by holding serve to take a 5-4 lead in the opener.

Almagro 4-6 *0-2 MurrayNo need to get angry now, Nicolas. The Spaniard punches his racket out of his hands before Murray holds to-love. If Almagro doesn't retire, this second set'll soon be over anyway by the looks of things.

Almagro 4-6 0-1* MurrayBREAK! Almagro doesn't look good and is soon three break points down. He's now not moving with the usual vigour we're used to as Murray swipes a forehand winner on-the-run to earn an early break in the second. I reckon Nicolas could retire before the end here.

12.51BREAK BACK! Kerber breaks the Azarenka serve back on Centre and the German will now look to level proceedings by holding at 3-4.

12.49And there's a lovely slow-mo shot of Wills and Kate (who I skied side-by-side with earlier on this year!) getting involved in the mexican wave. She's a babe, our Kate.

12.49Yep, the trainer's out for Almagro and giving the Spaniard's right shoulder a good ol' squeeze. Come on lad, give us a game here.

12.46That set was much easier than Murray would have anticipated. He secured the break and never looked troubled behind his own serve. The stats tell us that Murray was serving at 83% first serve, which is very impressive. Almagro was down at 44% and seems to be massaging his right shoulder. Injury trouble?

12.43SET! The Bryan brothers have come through 7-4 in their first-set breaker against the Israelis.

Almagro 4-5* MurrayAlmagro just holds after being taken to deuce with a forehand that skips off the baseline.

12.40What a shot from Andy! Almagro's delicate forehand clips the tape and bobbles over, with Murray waiting for it to drop past the netpost before hitting around the post and into court. Ingenious.

Almagro *3-5 MurrayGoodness me Murray is serving well. The Scot produces another love-hold, finishing the game off with two blistering aces. The 25-year-old's now within a game of the first set.

12.35Azarenka saves a break point against Kerber before moving 4-1 ahead as the Bryan brothers enter a first-set tie-break over on No. 2.

Almagro 3-4* MurrayMurray recovers from that disappointment to take Almagro to deuce but the 11th seed stays in touch as Murray can't get a wide serve over the net.

12.31Shot of the match from Murray as he tracks down a short Almagro ball before dinking over the net. The crowd go wild but the point goes to the Spaniard as Murray's foot just touched the net. Good spot from the umpire, to be fair.

Almagro *2-4 MurrayMurray opens up a 40-0 lead with some exceptional baseline rallying. He then limply nets a backhand before Almagro bullets a forehand up-the-line to peg Murray back. The Spaniard can't take it to deuce though as the Scot's forehand is too good.

12.27Azarenka is still a break up on Centre, now leading 3-1 against Kerber.

Almagro 2-3* MurrayBREAK! He takes the first as Almagro's second serve goes long! The Scot opened up the break-point opportunity with a clever angled forehand that Almagro just watched land in the service box. Advantage Great Britain.

12.24Three break points for Murray...

Almagro *2-2 MurrayMurray looks so assured behind his own serve as he again produces a high percentage of first serves to level.

Almagro 2-1* MurrayAlmagro is in a spot of bother at 15-30 before he wins three in a row to hold serve and again move ahead.

12.18BREAK! And she takes it! The Belarusian number one gets the best-possible start on Centre and is serving at 2-0.

12.17After holding in the first game, Azarenka has two break points on Centre.

Almagro *1-1 MurrayPerfect start for Murray as he holds to-love in a game with a pair of aces.

Almagro 1-0* MurrayThe Spaniard is off to a solid start as he holds serve to-30. Plenty of empty seats on No. 1 but I'm sure it won't be that way for long.

12.11It's Almagro to get us underway here.

12.10The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in attendance on No. 1, no pressure then Andy.

12.09The Scot is up against 11th seed Nicolas Almagro, usually a specialist of the clay circuit but Murray will need to be at his best here.

12.08If you've been with us for a little while, hit refresh and you'll be greeted with a nice picture of our boy Muzza hitting a forehand. Whoosh.

12.07Right then, our focus now will switch to Mr Murray on Court No. 1.

12.03Here come Azarenka and Kerber out on to centre. The former will be favourite but Kerber has had a great year, reaching the semi-finals of Wimbledon last month.

11.58The Bryan brothers are underway against Erlich and Ram, who hold serve to-15 in confident fashion.

11.53Here's the latest tweet from @WimboGroundsman: "Shower was heavy but has gone through quickly, hoping there aren't many today." So are we, so are we.

11.51The famous Bryan brothers, chest-pumping 'n' all, are just completing their warm-ups on No. 2 against the surprise Israeli package of Erlich and Ram.

11.47Anyone ask about the weather? Oh, you did. Lovely. Thursday afternooon and evening's forecast for Wimbledon is cloudy with bright intervals and NO RAIN! Yee-hah!

11.45The covers are off the outside courts and let's hope it stays that way. Time for a look at the weather forecast...

11.44Ok, I'm pleased to report that the sun is back out at SW19 and play will begin in the next 15 minutes or so.

11.38You'd think that they'd bring over the roof on Centre to avoid any confusion with the weather. Not sure if they have done so or not yet, mind.

11.36If you wish to peruse a full order of play for the day, just click here. Go on, you know you want to.

11.32I was just about to say that @WimboGroundsman posted a picture of beautiful blue sky earlier this morning but he's just updated that with a shot of a fellow court-coverer. Pah.

11.31Oh no! The rain is falling!

11.29On Court 18 there's a women's doubles match as Czech pair Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka (blimey) face Chia Jung Chuang and Su Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei. Tongue twist-tastic.

11.26Just two games starting at half 11 and they're both doubles quarters. On No. 2, top seeds in the men's draw, the American Bryan brothers, take on the Israeli pair of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram, who knocked out defending gold medallists Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka yesterday.

11.23The crowd on No. 1 have British number one Murray on court twice today as he opens proceedings in his quarter-final against Nicolas Almagro of Spain, seeded 11, and that's where we'll be focussing our interest at around 12pm.

11.22First up on Centre is women's number one seed Victoria (Vicky) Azarenka. The Belarusian is up against impressive German Angelique Kerber, seeded 7, who sent Venus Williams home yesterday.

11.20Centre has four singles quarters, while No. 1 has three but is finished with Andy Murray and Laura Robson's first-round mixed doubles encounter.

11.17Morning all! So, the two showcourts at SW19, Centre and No. 1, play host to a world class quarter-final lineup on this Thursday, August 2.
