Juan Martin del Potro reaches the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors courtesy of a tough three-set win over Kevin Anderson.

Juan Martin del Potro has battled to a spot in the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors following a 6-3 7-6[3] 6-2 win over Kevin Anderson.

The Argentinian started slowly in Switzerland, losing his opening serve to his South African opponent, who managed to display a strong forehand and return to keep his dominance and snatch the first set.

Del Potro was shocked into action in the second set and improved his serve in order to hold his game and keep himself in the match.

Anderson was able to match his opponent and forced the set to a tie-break, which Del Potro edged and maintained composure with some gliding shots across the court to push through a deciding set.

Del Potro stormed through the early stages of the third set by breaking Anderson's serve twice in a row and managing to hold on to grab a place in the semi-finals.
