Result: Rafael Nadal through to round three

World number two Rafael Nadal has advanced through to the last 16 at the Shanghai Masters with a straight-sets win over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Nadal rarely looked in trouble against his fellow Spaniard, only being broken on one occasion throughout the match.

In contrast, 28-year-old Garcia-Lopez struggled with his service game before eventually slipping to 6-3 6-2 loss in China.

Top seed for the tournament Nadal will now take on Florian Mayer for a place in the quarter-finals after the German defeated David Nalbandian yesterday.
