Result: Lopez through to Shanghai semis

Feliciano Lopez has booked a place in the Shanghai Masters semi-finals with a straight-sets victory against Florian Mayer.

The Spaniard beat the world number 22, who arrived in the final eight after a surprise ousting of Rafael Nadal, by 6-2, 6-4.

Lopez secured his third win of their four meetings after an hour and eight minutes of play.

The 30-year-old will face David Ferrer in the semi-finals after he defeated Andy Roddick earlier today.
