John Isner progresses into second round of Shanghai Masters

John Isner has booked a place in the second round of the Shanghai Masters with a 6-1 6-2 victory over Adrian Mannarino.

The American showed his intent early on by immediately going a break up, putting his opponent on the backfoot.

Mannarino failed to bounce back as he lost serve once again to go 5-1 down before Isner wrapped up the opening set with ease.

With the momentum in Isner's court, the American remained composed and eventually claimed a double break, which was enough to give the 13th seed the win in China.
