Marcel Granollers through to face Novak Djokovic in Shanghai

Marcel Granollers has defeated Janko Tipsarevic 6-4 6-4 on the opening day of the 2013 Shanghai Masters.

A solitary break in each set was enough to send the Spaniard into round two. The match, which lasted just under 85 minutes, was dominated by serve.

Both players registered four aces each, while Granollers faced just one break point and converted two of the three that he created.

He will now face Novak Djokovic, who won the China Open yesterday, in round two.
